In-shop procedures for MacCafé

We remain open to provide Apple computer and iPad repair services vital to employees and students who are working from home and/or sheltering in place. To keep our customers and staff as safe as possible while doing so, we have changed procedures to minimize contact and potential for the spread of contagions.

Due to a large amount of traffic coming from the closed Apple locations in Ohio, we are forced to go to an appointment-only model to handle repairs. This means that we cannot accommodate walk-in repairs at this time. To find an appointment we recommend that you use the https://locate.apple.com website to schedule an appointment. This is the fastest and most effective way to get an appointment with an authorized service center for your Apple product. There are a limited number of appointments available, all of them are at the top of the hour starting at 10:00 AM and ending with the 5:00 PM appointment.

To maximize the time that the techs have on the bench, we ask that you not call to try to set up an appointment. Instead, just use the https://locate.apple.com/ website to schedule your appointment.

Social distancing

Because most software repairs can be performed over the internet, please refrain from visiting the shop unless the device is experiencing hardware issues. If in doubt, call us to discuss symptoms with one of our Apple Certified Techs.

  • We have a limit of one customer in the shop at a time. This policy is best employed if you do the following:
    • Make an appointment for repair drop-off on-line at locate.apple.com. If there is a customer in the shop when you arrive, wait in your vehicle until you’re waved in.
    • Our door is locked, please knock or call for entry. (419) 885-1240
    • Allow time between customers for us to sanitize surfaces.
    • We can arrange for “drive through” pick-up with advance notice. Call to arrange.
    • You may be requested to extend “personal space” radius to six feet.

Before bringing Mac, iPad or iPod (we do not repair iPhones)

  • Make sure you know your administrative user ID and password for the device
  • Have Find My Mac or Find My Device turned off. Sign in to iCloud.com to do this or check whether or not it is enabled.
